Our lives practice us in ignoring ourselves. It’s a bad habit.
We move to feel ourselves. We move to feel what we need. We move to open and ease. We move to feel good.
We feel our feet on the floor. And feel our way up. We feel ourselves align.
We feel ourselves by moving.
We touch and guide our feel as we move.
How we align our feet shapes how we stand and sit. How we feel our feet shapes how we move. I guide you to align your feet.
We have an instinct to rub a spot when it gets sore. It’s a good instinct.
We can hold so much tension around our shoulders especially if we stare at a screen and type or do the same work again and again with our hands.
We can roll our shoulders and flap our arms about for days and not get much done. Anchored motion opens our shoulders.
We sway and feel ourselves extend and engage from the pelvis. And follow this feeling.
We hold still too much. We look at screens and hold our heads still too much. We ease that by limbering our necks.
Palms down is what we do to work. Palms in is when we stand at attention.
Together we hold our palms open and relax.
