Begin here.
Learning to meditate begins with learning to focus. Your own breath provides the least distracting focus. Your own breath provides the quietest focus.
Sit. Sit how you want. Sit comfortably. Don’t get fancy.
Hold still.
Close your eyes.
For a while notice only your breath. Notice as you breathe in. Notice as you breathe out.
Notice your butt sitting.
Notice what your ears hear.
Keep noticing your breath. In. And out.
Have no thoughts. When you have a thought, stop having the thought. Notice your breath more.
When you have had enough, you are done.
Going longer has no benefit. Doing it most days has benefit.
You can keep doing this. It is enough. There are also other ways. You can always come back to this.
